Salary
Estimated salary range: AED 75,000 – 95,000 per annum (subject to confirmation with the employer).
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage cleft lip and palate conditions across pediatric and adult patient groups.
- Perform advanced oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, including reconstructive, corrective, and trauma‑related operations.
- Assess congenital craniofacial abnormalities, jaw deformities, facial asymmetry, oral pathology, and complex maxillofacial conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and surgical strategies based on clinical findings, imaging, functional needs, and patient age.
- Collaborate with ENT specialists, plastic surgeons, orthodontists, speech therapists, pediatricians, anesthesiologists, nurses, and allied healthcare teams.
- Support multidisciplinary cleft care planning, including speech, feeding, dental, orthodontic, cosmetic, and functional considerations.
- Manage facial trauma cases, including fractures, soft tissue injuries, jaw injuries, and reconstructive surgical requirements.
- Provide pre‑operative evaluation, informed consent, surgical risk assessment, post‑operative care, and structured follow‑up.
- Maintain high standards of patient safety, infection control, operative documentation, clinical governance, and quality care.
- Educate patients and families on diagnosis, surgical options, recovery stages, rehabilitation needs, and long‑term care expectations.
- Participate in clinical audits, morbidity reviews, teaching activities, case discussions, and continuous medical education programmes.
- Contribute to service development by supporting evidence‑based protocols, surgical quality improvement, and multidisciplinary care pathways.
Ideal Profile
- Medical degree from a recognised institution with a specialization in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
- Fellowship, board certification, or equivalent recognised qualification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or a relevant surgical specialty.
- DHA licence or DHA eligibility as a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery physician.
- Minimum 5 years of consultant‑level experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
- Strong expertise in cleft lip and palate management, congenital craniofacial conditions, facial reconstruction, and maxillofacial trauma.
- Proven experience performing advanced surgical procedures for pediatric and adult patients.
- Ability to develop clear surgical plans and coordinate long‑term multidisciplinary care.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex procedures to patients, parents, and families.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with ENT, plastic surgery, orthodontics, pediatrics, speech therapy, and rehabilitation teams.
