Overview

Consultant OBGYN - Laparoscopic Surgery in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a senior Hospital and Health Care opportunity for a female obstetrics and gynecology consultant with advanced expertise in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, laparoscopic procedures, high-risk obstetrics, and comprehensive women's healthcare. This role is suited for a consultant who can manage complex obstetric and gynecologic cases while delivering safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care in a modern multidisciplinary healthcare environment. The position requires strong surgical capability, confident clinical judgment, and experience in managing pregnancies, gynecological disorders, emergency obstetric procedures, and advanced laparoscopic treatment for conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and infertility-related concerns.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology consultations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care for outpatient and inpatient patients.
• Manage normal and high-risk pregnancies, including antenatal reviews, maternal-fetal monitoring, labor planning, delivery support, and postnatal care.
• Perform advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive gynecological procedures with attention to patient safety, clinical suitability, and faster recovery outcomes.
• Conduct cesarean sections and emergency obstetric procedures when clinically required.
• Diagnose and manage gynecological conditions, including fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, and infertility-related concerns.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient history, clinical findings, imaging, laboratory results, reproductive goals, and surgical risk.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, neonatologists, radiologists, nurses, midwives, fertility specialists, and other multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Provide clear patient counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical procedures, risks, recovery expectations, pregnancy care, and preventive health.
• Maintain accurate consultation notes, operative reports, delivery records, consent documentation, treatment plans, and follow-up records in line with DHA requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, departmental meetings, patient safety reviews, and medical education activities.
• Follow international standards for obstetric and gynecologic care, infection control, confidentiality, clinical governance, and ethical medical practice.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree with specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Fellowship, board certification, or equivalent specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Advanced training and proven expertise in laparoscopic gynecological surgery.
• Active DHA license or eligibility for Dubai Health Authority consultant licensure is preferred.
• Female candidate preferred as per operational requirement.
• Minimum 5 years of consultant-level experience in obstetrics, gynecology, and minimally invasive gynecologic procedures.
• Strong expertise in high-risk obstetrics, cesarean section, emergency obstetric care, laparoscopic surgery, and complex gynecological case management.
• Excellent communication, patient counselling, surgical planning, clinical documentation, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
