Consultant – Laparoscopic Gynecology

Role Context

The Consultant – Laparoscopic Gynecology will provide advanced obstetric and gynecological care for women requiring maternity care, surgical treatment, reproductive health support, and long‑term gynecological management. The role combines outpatient consultation, high‑risk obstetric care, cesarean delivery, emergency obstetric intervention, advanced laparoscopic surgery, and minimally invasive treatment for complex gynecological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up care for outpatient and inpatient cases.
• Manage normal pregnancies, high‑risk pregnancies, antenatal care, labor care, delivery planning, and post‑natal recovery.
• Perform advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive gynecological surgeries for suitable clinical cases.
• Conduct cesarean sections, emergency obstetric procedures, and gynecological surgical interventions in line with patient safety standards.
• Diagnose and manage gynecological disorders including fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, infertility‑related conditions and hormonal concerns.
• Develop individualized care plans based on patient history, clinical examination, imaging, laboratory results, pregnancy risk profile, and surgical suitability.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, neonatologists, fertility specialists, radiologists, nurses, midwives, and multidisciplinary medical teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide patient education on pregnancy care, reproductive health, surgical options, fertility concerns, family planning, preventive screening, and recovery expectations.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment choices, surgical risks, expected outcomes, and follow‑up plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including consultation notes, operative reports, consent forms, delivery records, prescriptions, and post‑operative follow‑up plans.
• Ensure compliance with DHA requirements, international healthcare standards, hospital protocols, infection control procedures, and clinical governance frameworks.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, morbidity and mortality reviews, departmental meetings, and medical education activities.
• Support a respectful and confidential care environment focused on patient trust, privacy, safety, and high‑quality women's healthcare.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Fellowship or board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Advanced training and proven expertise in laparoscopic gynecological surgery.
• DHA License Eligibility or active DHA License is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of consultant‑level experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
• Female candidate preferred as per operational requirement.
• Strong expertise in minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, laparoscopic surgery, cesarean sections, obstetric care, and high‑risk pregnancy management.
