Role Context

The Consultant - Laparoscopic OBGYN will provide advanced obstetrics and gynecology services with a strong focus on minimally invasive surgical care, high-risk pregnancy management, reproductive health, and complex gynecological conditions. The role requires strong clinical judgement, surgical precision, patient communication, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective outcomes. The consultant will support women through antenatal care, delivery, postnatal recovery, gynecological diagnosis, laparoscopic surgery, infertility-related conditions, and long-term women's health planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology consultations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
• Manage normal pregnancies, high-risk pregnancies, antenatal care, delivery planning, and postnatal care.
• Perform advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive gynecological procedures with a strong focus on patient safety and recovery outcomes.
• Conduct cesarean sections, emergency obstetric procedures, and related surgical interventions when clinically required.
• Diagnose and manage gynecological disorders including fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, and infertility-related conditions.
• Evaluate patients using clinical history, physical examination, imaging results, laboratory investigations, and evidence-based medical protocols.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for obstetric and gynecological patients based on clinical need, risk profile, and patient preference.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, radiologists, fertility specialists, neonatologists, nurses, midwives, and other medical teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide clear, compassionate, and professional communication to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, procedures, risks, and recovery plans.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, surgical notes, consent records, discharge summaries, and follow-up plans.
• Ensure compliance with DHA requirements, hospital policies, international healthcare standards, ethical practice, and patient safety expectations.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, morbidity reviews, medical education, and professional development activities.
• Support the development of advanced women's health services through evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
• Promote confidentiality, dignity, cultural sensitivity, and patient-centered care across all clinical interactions.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree with specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Fellowship or board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Advanced training and proven expertise in laparoscopic gynecological surgery.
• Minimum 5 years of consultant-level experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
• DHA license eligibility or active DHA license is preferred.
• Strong experience in minimally invasive gynecologic procedures and obstetric management.
