Allocation Assist Middle East is seeking an experienced Consultant Neurologist specializing in Stroke Medicine for a clinical opportunity in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The position focuses on expert diagnosis and management of acute and chronic cerebrovascular disorders, hyperacute stroke care, secondary stroke prevention, and the development of comprehensive stroke services. The successful physician will manage complex neurological and cerebrovascular cases, support time-critical stroke pathways, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams involved in neurointervention, neurosurgery, cardiology, emergency medicine, rehabilitation, and neurocritical care.

About the Role
The Consultant Neurologist will provide senior-level neurological care for patients presenting with acute and chronic cerebrovascular disease. The role includes hyperacute stroke assessment, inpatient and outpatient management, secondary prevention, interpretation of neurological imaging, participation in stroke unit and ICU rounds, and involvement in multidisciplinary stroke services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultant-level care for patients with acute and chronic cerebrovascular disorders.
- Assess and manage acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, transient ischemic attacks, cerebral venous thrombosis, carotid disease, cryptogenic stroke, embolic stroke, and other cerebrovascular conditions.
- Participate in acute and hyperacute stroke pathways.
- Assess patients for intravenous thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy in collaboration with neurointerventional teams.
- Provide post-stroke management and comprehensive secondary prevention.
- Manage stroke risk factors and coordinate long-term vascular risk reduction.
- Interpret and integrate neurological imaging and investigations, including CT, CTA, MRI, and MRA, within applicable clinical privileges.
- Participate in stroke unit and ICU rounds and multidisciplinary stroke meetings.
- Collaborate with Interventional Neuroradiology, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Neurocritical Care teams.
- Contribute to stroke protocols, clinical pathways, quality-improvement programs, and patient-safety initiatives.
- Participate in outpatient stroke clinics and inpatient neurological consultations.
- Provide education and supervision to residents, fellows, and junior physicians.
- Participate in clinical research, teaching, and academic activities.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and UAE healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from a recognized medical school.
- Completion of accredited postgraduate training in Neurology.
- Recognized Board Certification or Specialist or Consultant qualification in Neurology.
- Fellowship or advanced formal training in Stroke Medicine or Vascular Neurology is highly desirable.
- Valid Department of Health Abu Dhabi Consultant license or eligibility, as specified in the source requirements.
Required Experience
- Significant post-specialist experience as a Consultant or Specialist Neurologist.
- Demonstrated experience in acute stroke management.
- Experience with thrombolysis and participation in mechanical thrombectomy pathways.
- Strong experience in secondary stroke prevention and cerebrovascular disease management.
- Experience working within a dedicated stroke unit or comprehensive stroke center is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Fellowship training in Vascular Neurology or Stroke Medicine.
- Experience within comprehensive stroke center services.
- Experience with telestroke and hyperacute stroke pathways.
- Familiarity with advanced neuroimaging and stroke imaging protocols.
- Academic, teaching, research, or quality-improvement experience.
