Job description

Consultant ENT Surgeon – Head and Neck Surgery at a leading hospital in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up care for adult and pediatric ENT conditions.
• Perform advanced head and neck surgeries, including thyroid, parathyroid, salivary gland, neck mass, and oncologic procedures.
• Lead complex airway management, including difficult airway cases, tracheostomy care, airway reconstruction, and endoscopic airway interventions.
• Conduct outpatient clinics, diagnostic assessments, surgical consultations, and long‑term follow‑up care.
• Manage emergency ENT cases such as airway obstruction, epistaxis, trauma, infection, and acute surgical presentations.
• Perform a full range of ENT procedures, including endoscopic sinus surgery, otologic procedures, laryngeal surgery, and head and neck oncology surgery.
• Collaborate with anesthesiology, oncology, radiology, pulmonology, ICU, nursing, and allied health teams to deliver integrated patient care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards, airway management committees, complex case reviews, and treatment planning meetings.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, protocol creation, and ENT service development.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, operative notes, consent records, treatment plans, and follow‑up reports in line with DHA standards.
• Teach and supervise residents, fellows, junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
• Engage in research, publications, continuous professional development, and evidence‑based updates in ENT and head and neck surgery.
• Support strategic planning for ENT, airway, and head and neck services within a high‑volume clinical environment.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent).
• Completion of residency and fellowship training in Otolaryngology or ENT.
• Western Board Certification (UK CCT, American Board, Canadian FRCSC, Australian Fellowship, New Zealand Fellowship, or equivalent).
• Subspecialty fellowship training in Head and Neck Surgery or Airway Surgery preferred.
• Eligibility for DHA Consultant License.
• Minimum 8 years of post‑specialty qualification experience or experience aligned with DHA consultant criteria.
• Proven expertise in complex airway management and head and neck surgical oncology.
• Strong surgical background in thyroid, parathyroid, salivary gland, laryngeal, airway, sinus, otologic, and oncologic ENT procedures.
• Experience in tertiary‑care or high‑volume ENT and head and neck centres an advantage.
• Strong communication, leadership, clinical judgment, and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care, clinical safety, ethical practice, teaching, research, and continuous service improvement.
