Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized medical school.
• Residency in Internal Medicine completed.
• Accredited Cardiology/Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship or residency completed.
• Additional Heart Failure or Transplant Cardiology training desirable.
• Board certification or Specialist/Consultant cardio qualification.
• Eligible for UAE DoH licensure (DoH Abu Dhabi).

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist consultation and comprehensive management for acute and chronic heart failure.

Allocation Assist Middle East is seeking an experienced Consultant Cardiologist with advanced training or fellowship in Heart Failure for a full-time healthcare opportunity in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on comprehensive management of acute and chronic heart failure, cardiomyopathies, and complex advanced heart failure cases. The consultant will work across inpatient and outpatient services while contributing to multidisciplinary care and the development of an advanced heart failure service.

Heart Failure Responsibilities

• Provide specialist consultation and comprehensive management for patients with acute and chronic heart failure.
• Manage complex heart failure and cardiomyopathy cases.
• Evaluate and manage patients with pulmonary hypertension.
• Provide care for heart failure with reduced, mildly reduced, and preserved ejection fraction.
• Assess appropriate patients for advanced heart failure therapies.
• Participate in assessment for mechanical circulatory support where applicable.
• Contribute to heart transplantation assessment and management where applicable.
• Conduct outpatient heart failure clinics and provide inpatient consultation services.
• Perform and interpret appropriate cardiovascular investigations within approved clinical privileges.
• Use echocardiography and other relevant cardiac imaging to support diagnosis and ongoing management.

Advanced Heart Failure Care

The consultant will manage patients with complex cardiovascular disease requiring coordinated specialist input and advanced treatment planning. This includes working with cardiac surgeons, electrophysiologists, interventional cardiologists, intensivists, and other specialists involved in advanced cardiac care. The position also includes participation in multidisciplinary heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and transplant meetings and contribution to the development of a high-quality advanced heart failure service.

Clinical Leadership and Education

• Contribute to clinical protocols for heart failure and cardiomyopathy management.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives.
• Support development of evidence-based cardiovascular care pathways.
• Teach, train, and mentor residents, fellows, and junior physicians.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Comply with applicable UAE regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine.
• Completion of accredited Cardiology or Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship or residency training.
• Additional fellowship or advanced training in Heart Failure or Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology is highly desirable.
• Board certification or recognized Specialist or Consultant qualification in Cardiology.
• Valid eligibility for Department of Health - DoH Abu Dhabi licensure.

Preferred Experience

• Significant post-specialist experience as a Consultant or Specialist Cardiologist.
• Dedicated clinical experience in heart failure and cardiomyopathy management.
• Experience assessing and treating advanced heart failure.
• Exposure to LVAD or other mechanical circulatory support is highly desirable.
• Exposure to heart transplantation is highly desirable.
• Experience in pulmonary hypertension is an advantage.
• Experience managing cardiac amyloidosis is an advantage.
• Academic, teaching, research, or quality improvement experience is desirable.
