Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat breast‑related conditions, including benign breast disease, malignant tumors, breast lumps, suspicious imaging findings, and high‑risk breast presentations.
- Perform advanced breast surgical procedures such as mastectomy, lumpectomy, breast‑conserving surgery, sentinel node procedures, and breast reconstruction within approved clinical privileges.
- Provide oncologic breast surgery care with attention to tumor margins, staging requirements, multidisciplinary recommendations, and long‑term treatment planning.
- Use minimally invasive and robotic‑assisted surgical techniques where applicable and clinically appropriate.
- Collaborate with medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, plastic surgeons, pathologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board discussions to support comprehensive treatment plans for breast cancer and complex breast disease cases.
- Provide pre‑operative counseling, explain surgical choices, discuss risks and benefits, obtain informed consent, and prepare patients for surgery.
- Manage post‑operative recovery, wound review, complication monitoring, pathology result discussion, referral coordination, and long‑term follow‑up.
- Educate patients in Arabic and English on treatment options, recovery expectations, preventive care, screening awareness, and lifestyle‑related breast health guidance.
- Maintain accurate consultation notes, imaging reviews, operative reports, consent records, pathology documentation, treatment plans, and follow‑up instructions.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, facility policies, infection control standards, patient safety requirements, and ethical medical practice.
- Stay updated on advancements in breast surgery, breast oncology, reconstructive methods, surgical technology, and evidence‑based cancer care.
Ideal Profile
- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in General Surgery with specialization, fellowship, or advanced training in Breast Surgery.
- Minimum 5‑10 years of experience in breast surgery.
- Strong expertise in both oncologic and reconstructive breast procedures.
- Fluent Arabic communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Western medical training is preferred.
- Proven experience managing benign and malignant breast conditions in a hospital, breast unit, cancer center, or advanced surgical setting.
- Practical knowledge of mastectomy, lumpectomy, breast reconstruction, minimally invasive breast procedures, and multidisciplinary oncology care.
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients facing sensitive diagnoses and complex treatment decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
