Core Duties
- Teach Construction BTEC lessons using UK national curriculum expectations, GCSE standards, and A‑Level learning approaches where required.
- Plan structured lessons that connect classroom learning with practical construction concepts, sustainable building awareness, and real‑world industry examples.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson materials, assessments, and student progress records in line with school academic requirements.
- Support students in developing construction knowledge, technical vocabulary, project understanding, and problem‑solving skills.
- Use creative teaching strategies, digital tools, and applied learning methods to keep students engaged in both theory and practical topics.
- Assess student work regularly and provide clear feedback that helps learners improve performance and confidence.
- Share outstanding classroom practice with colleagues and contribute to curriculum improvement across the department.
- Work closely with parents, students, and school leadership to support academic achievement and personal development.
- Participate in school events, professional development activities, and wider initiatives connected to sustainability and career readiness.

Required Skills and Experience
- B.Ed, subject‑related degree with PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven qualified experience teaching Construction BTEC within a UK curriculum school setting.
- Strong understanding of GCSE, A‑Levels, and vocational education pathways.
- Ability to deliver practical, student‑focused lessons that support different learning levels.
- Interest in career growth, educational leadership, and sustainability‑focused learning.
- Creative and enthusiastic teaching style inside and outside the classroom.
