Job description

Overview

Assist the Project Manager and Planning Engineer in preparing project schedules, reviewing work progress with section engineers, and updating look‑ahead plans to ensure project targets are met.

Responsibilities
  • Review drawings, specifications, method statements, material data sheets, and project documentation to identify design issues or discrepancies and recommend solutions to ensure efficient and compliant site execution.
  • Define and organize project work fronts, prioritize on‑site activities, and direct construction teams to ensure cost‑effective and efficient execution of works.
  • Establish, monitor, and adjust productivity rates and operational targets, communicate them to section engineers, and provide guidance to support project profitability.
  • Advise the Project Manager on construction methodologies and technical decisions while providing technical assistance and guidance to the construction team.
  • Forecast required resources—including manpower, materials, equipment, and tools—ensure their timely availability on site, and implement strategies for effective allocation and cost optimization.
  • Supervise construction activities continuously, coordinate with the quality team and section engineers, review QA/QC reports and client consultant observations, and ensure work complies with approved designs, specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
  • Anticipate and resolve critical problems, investigate incidents or delays, and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions and maintain project continuity and profitability.
  • Monitor productivity and performance of resources, review progress reports, and implement corrective actions to meet time and cost objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with project policies and procedures and oversee the preparation and timely submission of accurate project reports and documentation.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by leading safety initiatives, overseeing toolbox meetings, and ensuring full compliance with safety regulations and requirements on site.
  • Liaise with clients and consultants to resolve issues and manage subcontractors’ performance, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance while maintaining productive working relationships.
  • Organize and implement efficient demobilization plans at the completion of project phases to ensure optimal use of resources.
Qualifications
  • Engineering degree in the relevant area of specialization with 8 to 10 years of experience, or an Engineering degree with a Master’s and 5 to 8 years of experience.
  • Member of or accredited by the national engineering body in the respective country.
  • Team player with strong focus on effectiveness, efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
Skills & Languages
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
  • French is considered a plus.
