The candidate should hold a Civil Engineering degree with 14+ years of experience and completed certifications in Construction Management, Estimating & Budgeting, Contracts Management, LEED and PMP.

• Number of years of experience: Over 14 years.
• Specialized training (if any): Construction Management, Project Estimating & Budgeting, Contracts Management, LEED & PMP.

Job description

We are seeking to hire a talented Construction Manager for one of our clients based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Projects will be across the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule, organize and supervise the smooth functions of the project, delegating authority to Project/Site Engineers, Foremen and Charge Hands for effective use of manpower, equipment and other resources.
• Evaluate and take appropriate prompt actions for the quality, health, security and safety & welfare of all employees at the projects.
• Organize and manage all resources and project construction activities to achieve an efficient and effective completion of the contract within the agreed time and cost.
• Plan, execute and monitor contractual commitments of the project and liaise with client/consultant engineers & local authorities for project requirements.
• Represent the Project Manager & Deputy Project Manager in meetings, taking action as per discussed decisions and following up for completion.
• Coordinate with all in-house and external service providers & sub‑contractors for smooth operation and effective planning and utilization of resources.
• Conduct regular meetings with project engineers, site engineers and foremen to evaluate progress, contractual & design issues and initiate prompt action.
• Implement program and closely monitor the usage of manpower, equipment and materials to ensure that job costs do not exceed the budgeted target and work is completed promptly.
• Ensure that all engineers, foremen, charge‑hands, skilled and unskilled & PMV workers understand their responsibilities and carry out tasks efficiently to achieve company objectives.
• Monitor requisitions for materials at site and ensure materials are not wasted.
• Maintain all store records, receipts, issuances & maintain assets, inventories, etc.
• Ensure that the quality plan, QHSE policies, IMS objectives and IMS procedures are implemented to achieve customer / client satisfaction.
• Arrange periodic performance appraisals of project staff & workers & submit recommendations to the Project Manager.
• Promote QHSE & ISMS policies within the company and ensure that the quality, environmental, health, safety & information security management system procedures are followed at all times, striving for continuous improvement until the integrated management system is effective.
• Perform additional duties as required by management.

Accountabilities

• Produce the required standard of quality and safety to meet client requirements.
• Complete projects within specified time and budget constraints.
• Ensure safety and welfare of the workforce employed at the sites and create a proper work environment.
• Implement the information security management system at project level.
