Job summary

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Superintendent - Construction (Lifting) to lead lifting and rigging operations at an Abu Dhabi site. You will develop lift schedules, select cranes and gear, and ensure safety and environmental excellence on all lifts, while coordinating method statements, JSA’s, and daily site audits.

Qualifications

• Maximum years of experience in rigging & lifting site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors overseeing or managing project lifting and rigging operation in all stages including modular, static, rotating equipment’s as well as heavy/oversize transport operation.
• Minimum years’ experience as a rigging supervisor.
• Minimum years’ experience as a Lifting Superintendent.
• Must be college graduate preferably an engineer in profession.
• Experience working in the CIS/FSU, Middle East, and/or North Africa.
• Experience with diverse international workforce.
• Knowledge of ASME, OHSA and LOLER regulations.
• Formal OPITO-accredited training (NPORS BV or equivalent).
• Able to produce working reports and coordinate SIMOPS.
• Knowledge of lifting drawings and calculations; review/approve lift plans and lift studies.

Responsibilities

• Capable to develop lift and haul schedules at site and assist wide optimization and utilization of lifting resources according to site priorities.
• Capable to provide planning, selection of crane, lifting gear & equipment, instruction, and necessary safety precaution.
• Ensure that Lifting activities at site are planned, scheduled, executed with highest regard for personal safety and environment excellence
• Support in developing method statement and JSA’s.
• Conduct daily site audits to ensure HSE and Lifting / Hauling inspections and procedure compliance.
• Monitoring of project lifting & rigging operations to ensure all lifts are performed in accordance with approved rigging plans and procedure
• Responsible for the day to day cranes and lifting activities at site.
• Qualified person for all Load-out, Load-in, Hauling and Erection activities using lifting equipment.
• Ensure all lifting / hauling equipment are well maintained, inspected and certified by approved 3rd party and meets the regulatory frequency.
• Ensure all personnel involved in lifting / hauling operation are trained, competent and 3rd party certified.
• Conducting training of rigging personnel, VOC assessments and maintaining such records at site.
• Reviewing and approving lift plan, rigging & lifting procedure and lift studies including subcontractor’s lift plan.
• Confirming there is an effective procedure for reporting defects and incidents and taking any corrective action.
