Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a qualified Lifting Supervisor to oversee on-site lifting operations in Abu Dhabi. The role requires ensuring safety, compliance with HSE standards, and certification verification of cranes and equipment.

You will coordinate with the Appointed Person, crane operators, riggers, and site teams, leading pre-lift meetings and safety briefings. Ideal candidate has a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years in lifting ops within Oil & Gas, and an ADNOC-approved Lifting Supervisor

Qualifications

• Diploma (3 years) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years lifting ops experience in Oil & Gas (onshore/offshore).
• Certified Lifting Supervisor (4-day course) from ADNOC-approved provider.
• Successfully passed client/panel assessment (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of lifting operations, rigging and safety procedures.
• Familiar with ADNOC standards and international lifting guidelines.
• Ability to supervise teams and ensure safe execution of lifting activities.
• Strong commitment to HSE and safe working practices.
• Good communication skills in English (spoken and written).
• Valid CICPA pass for Habshan (preferred).
• Immediate joiners preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all lifting operations on-site.
• Ensure all lifting activities are carried out safely and in compliance with HSE standards and project requirements.
• Verify that all cranes, lifting equipment, and accessories are certified, inspected, and suitable for use.
• Coordinate with Appointed Person, crane operators, riggers, and site teams for smooth execution of lifting activities.
• Conduct pre-lift meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings before commencement of lifting operations.
• Monitor lifting activities to ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work (PTW, JSA, Method Statements).
• Identify hazards and implement risk control measures to prevent incidents.
• Ensure proper rigging practices and load handling techniques are followed.
• Stop any unsafe act or condition and report incidents, near misses, or deviations.
• Maintain records of lifting activities, inspections, and daily reports.
• Assist in incident investigations related to lifting operations.

• Ensure all lifting activities are carried out safely and in compliance with HSE standards and project requirements

• Verify that all cranes, lifting equipment, and accessories are certified, inspected, and suitable for use

Desired Candidate Profile

• Diploma (3 years) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in lifting operations within Oil & Gas (onshore/offshore)

• Certified Lifting Supervisor (4-day course) from an ADNOC‑approved training provider

• Successfully passed client/panel assessment (preferred)

• Strong knowledge of lifting operations, rigging practices, and safety procedures

• Familiar with ADNOC standards and international lifting guidelines

• Ability to supervise teams and ensure safe execution of lifting activities

• Strong commitment to HSE and safe working practices

• Good communication skills in English (spoken and written)
