Job summary

Go Tech Contracting L.L.C in Dubai seeks an Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive tenders for construction projects. You will review drawings, BOQs, quantities, and supplier quotes to develop reliable project pricing and ensure alignment with tender requirements.

You will work with commercial, procurement, engineering and project teams, identify commercial risks, perform quantity take-offs, analyse market rates, and support post-tender negotiations.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction estimation and tendering.
• Experience with quantity take-offs, BOQs, rate analysis and cost calculations.
• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts and construction commercial practices is an advantage.

About the Role

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and commercially viable cost estimates and tenders for construction projects. The role involves reviewing drawings, specifications, BOQs, quantities, subcontractor quotations, material costs, labour requirements, and project requirements to develop reliable project pricing.

The Estimator will work closely with the commercial, procurement, engineering, project management, and subcontractor teams to ensure that tender submissions are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs, scope of work, and contractual requirements.
• Perform quantity take-offs and verify quantities from drawings and BOQs.
• Analyse project requirements and identify the required labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor resources.
• Obtain, review, and compare quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Prepare detailed pricing for materials, labour, equipment, subcontractor works, preliminaries, overheads, and other project costs.
• Develop competitive tender rates while ensuring appropriate cost coverage and project profitability.
• Identify exclusions, qualifications, assumptions, and commercial risks within tender documents.
• Prepare tender comparison sheets and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to clarify quotations, scope, specifications, and pricing.
• Coordinate with the engineering and project teams to clarify technical requirements and construction methodologies.
• Assist in developing project budgets and cost plans.
• Review market rates and maintain up-to-date cost databases for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor works.
• Conduct value engineering and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare tender summaries and pricing breakdowns for management review and approval.
• Ensure tender submissions are completed accurately and within the required deadlines.
• Support negotiations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers when required.
• Maintain proper records of estimates, quotations, tender documents, and pricing information.
• Assist the commercial team during post-tender negotiations, clarifications, and handover to the project team.
• Identify potential commercial and contractual risks during the tender stage.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in construction estimation and tendering.
• UAE/GCC construction experience is preferred.
• Strong experience in preparing estimates and tenders for building or construction projects.
• Good knowledge of construction materials, methods, labour costs, and subcontractor pricing.
• Experience with quantity take-offs, BOQs, rate analysis, and cost calculations.
• Knowledge of FIDIC contracts and construction commercial practices is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant estimating/tendering software.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
