Job summary

Al Maha Arjaan by Rotana Abu Dhabi is seeking a passionate Commis III to support daily kitchen operations and mise-en-place. You will work under the Demi Chef de Partie or Commis I to maintain high standards and cost control while ensuring quality in all prep tasks.

The role requires professional chef training and good English communication, with a proactive, team-oriented attitude in a multicultural hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily mis-en-place and duties to meet set standards.
• Support Demi Chef de Partie or Commis I in daily operations.
• Maintain hygienic work area according to hotel rules.
• Control stock and food cost in your section.
• Prepare daily mis-en-place and food production in kitchen or satellites.
• Follow instructions from superiors to complete daily tasks.

Job description

This position is based at Al Maha Arjaan by Rotana Abu Dhabi.

As a Commis III you are responsible for the daily mis-en-place and duties assigned to meet the set standard and qualities whereby your role will include key responsibilities such as:

• Support the Demi Chef de Partie or Commis I in the daily operation and work
• Work according to the instructions of Superiors
• Keep work area at all times in hygienic conditions according to the rules set by the hotel
• Control food stock and food cost in his section
• Prepare the daily mis-en-place and food production in different sections of the main kitchen or satellites
• Follow the instructions and recommendations from the immediate Superiors to complete the daily tasks
• Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation
• Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control

Skills

Education, Qualifications & Experiences

You should have a professional chefs training course and previous experience in a quality establishment with good culinary skills. The ability to communicate in English and a proven track of food preparation, preservation knowledge is an essential.
