Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts' InterContinental Fujairah Resort is seeking a Commis II to support the kitchen team with basic food preparation and daily operations, under guidance from the Chef de Partie. You will follow recipes, ensure food safety and hygiene, and contribute to timely service in a luxury five-star setting.

Ideal candidates will have a culinary degree or certificate and be prepared to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in culinary arts.
• Experience in kitchen or culinary roles preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen team in daily operations while maintaining quality and sanitation standards.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, portioning and proper storage.
• Assist with mise en place and basic food preparation according to recipes and instructions.
• Support timely service while maintaining food quality, consistency and presentation.
• Maintain proper food hygiene, HACCP, cleanliness, and sanitation standards.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, and FIFO rotation of ingredients.
• Follow all hotel SOPs, health, safety, fire, and hygiene procedures.
• Keep workstations, utensils, and equipment clean, organized, and in good condition.
• Report any equipment or food safety concerns to the Chef de Partie.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
