Job summary

InterContinental Fujairah Resort in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Commis I to support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations. You will help ensure food is prepared to hotel standards with attention to quality, presentation and hygiene.

The role requires 1–2 years of experience in a similar culinary position, basic HACCP knowledge, and strong English communication. Shift flexibility is required, with opportunities for training and career growth in a luxury five-star

Qualifications

• Completion of a degree or certificate in culinary arts.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as Commis I or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of HACCP, food safety, hygiene and sanitation.
• Good command of English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Assist Chef de Partie / Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations.
• Minimize wastage through proper handling, storage, and FIFO rotation.
• Assist with stock control and prepare ingredients efficiently.
• Prepare food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Ensure consistency in taste, quality and portioning.
• Support the kitchen team with daily production and service requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, HACCP and food safety standards.
