InterContinental Fujairah Resort in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates is seeking a Commis II to support the kitchen team with basic food preparation and daily operations while developing culinary skills. You will follow Chef de Partie and senior chefs to ensure food is prepared safely, efficiently, and to hotel standards.

The ideal candidate has culinary training or experience, good communication skills, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment including nights and weekends.

Competenze

• Completion of a degree or certificate in culinary arts.
• Previous kitchen or culinary experience; Chef or equivalent preferred.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, kitchen hygiene, HACCP, and food safety standards.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
• Physically able to lift, push, pull, bend, and kneel as required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Mansioni

• Support the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen team in daily operations while maintaining quality and sanitation standards.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, portioning and proper storage.
• Assist with mise en place and basic food preparation according to recipes and instructions.
• Support timely service while maintaining food quality, consistency and presentation.
• Maintain proper food hygiene, HACCP, cleanliness, and sanitation standards.
• Ensure proper storage, labelling, and FIFO rotation of ingredients.
• Follow all hotel SOPs, health, safety, fire, and hygiene procedures.
• Keep workstations, utensils, and equipment clean, organized, and in good condition.
• Report any equipment or food safety concerns to the Chef de Partie.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
