Job summary

Daikan Hospitality Group is seeking a Commis I for Daikan Izakaya at Galleria Mall, Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on learning Japanese cuisine and supporting high-volume kitchen operations with a collaborative team.

The ideal candidate is eager to learn, organized, and capable of maintaining hygiene standards in a fast-paced environment. Shifts include evenings and weekends, with opportunities to grow within our expanding portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen or culinary training preferred.
• Strong desire to learn Japanese cuisine.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Capable of working in high‑pressure environments and managing time.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Flexible to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients by peeling, chopping, and slicing under the direction of senior chefs.
• Support the kitchen team during service by helping with cooking and plating dishes, following established standards and recipes.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation practices throughout the kitchen.
• Actively participate in training sessions and learn about various cooking techniques and methods.
• Assist with the organization and inventory of kitchen supplies, ensuring all ingredients are stored properly and tracked for freshness.
• Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service times.

We are looking for a talented Commis I to join our culinary team. in Daikan Izakaya ,Galleria Mall. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in Japanese cuisine and proven experience in high-volume restaurant operations

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients by peeling, chopping, and slicing under the direction of senior chefs. Ensure all ingredients are ready for efficient cooking during service.
• Support the kitchen team during service by helping with cooking and plating dishes, following established standards and recipes.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation practices throughout the kitchen.
• Actively participate in training sessions and learn about various cooking techniques and methods. Seek feedback from senior staff to improve culinary skills.
