Job summary

Massar Business Solutions seeks a Commercial & Contracts Engineer to manage all contractual and commercial aspects of projects, ensuring financial efficiency, risk mitigation, and adherence to contract terms.

The role requires close coordination with clients and subcontractors to protect commercial interests, review contracts, monitor budgets, evaluate variations, handle claims, and support tendering and procurement. Familiarity with FIDIC and strong negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3-8 years of experience in construction/engineering projects (GCC experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of contract forms such as FIDIC.
• Experience in claims, variations, and cost control.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and commercial reporting tools.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyse, and administer contracts (main contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements).
• Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability; prepare cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare, submit, and negotiate variation orders and claims; assess extensions of time and additional costs.
• Track project expenditures against budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist in tender preparation, pricing, and commercial evaluations; review tender documents for key risks.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams; provide contractual advice to project managers and engineers.
