Al Marwan Group in the UAE seeks a skilled Lathe Machine Operator to set up and run manual or CNC lathes, turning raw materials into precision parts. You will read drawings, select tools, and monitor operations to meet strict tolerances.
You will perform quality checks with verniers, micrometers, and gauges, maintain tooling, and follow safety procedures. A high school diploma and machinist training are preferred, with prior experience in machining and repair advantageous.

Operates manual or CNC lathe machines to cut, shape, and finish metal or plastic raw materials into precision mechanical parts. The operator interprets engineering drawings, sets up cutting tools, monitors machining operations, and inspects finished components using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Set up, adjust, and operate manual or CNC turning lathes.
Machine components according to specified dimensions and tolerances.
Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, drilling, grooving, chamfering, and other machining operations.
Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate production.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Determine required dimensions, tolerances, cutting parameters, and machining sequences.
Follow work instructions and production specifications accurately.
Inspect finished workpieces using precision measuring instruments such as:
Vernier calipers
Micrometers
Gauges
Other precision measuring tools
Ensure components meet required dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
Identify and report defects or dimensional deviations.
Select, mount, align, and adjust appropriate cutting tools.
Monitor tool condition and replace or sharpen tools when required.
Ensure proper tool settings for different materials and machining operations.
Perform routine machine cleaning and basic maintenance.
Identify and troubleshoot common machine or tooling issues.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow all workplace safety procedures and use the required PPE.
Operate machinery safely and responsibly at all times.
Strong understanding of machining techniques, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and material properties.
Knowledge of manual and/or CNC lathe machine operation.
Ability to understand machining tolerances and technical specifications.
Ability to calculate dimensions, clearances, tolerances, and basic machining requirements.
Good understanding of measurements and unit conversions.
Good hand-eye coordination.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to handle precision components and measuring instruments accurately.
High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with vocational/technical training.
Machinist certification, ITI, technical diploma, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
Proven experience working as a Lathe Machine Operator, CNC Machine Operator, CNC Turning Operator or Machinist.
Practical workshop experience in machining and mechanical component manufacturing or repair is an advantage.
