Job summary

CMiC is seeking a Cloud & Linux Operations Engineer based in Dubai to manage cloud infrastructure and provide technical support for international clients. Responsibilities include optimizing cloud resources across AWS, Oracle, and Azure, along with server patching and administration.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Linux and Windows environments, cloud technologies, and IT service management, contributing to a dynamic team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) administration.
  • 3+ years of experience in Windows Server administration.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

  • Administer and optimize cloud resources across AWS, OCI, and Azure.
  • Plan and execute patching cycles for Windows and Linux servers.
  • Provide Level 2/3 technical support to end users.

Job description

Role Overview

Cloud & Linux Operations Engineer will be working from the Dubai location and will be responsible for servicing international customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cloud Infrastructure
    • Administer, monitor and optimise cloud resources across AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Microsoft Azure.
    • Provision and manage cloud compute, storage and identity services.
    • Implement and maintain cloud cost governance, tagging policies and resource right‑sizing.
    • Support cloud architecture decisions and assist with infrastructure‑as‑code tooling such as Terraform or Ansible.
    • Monitor cloud environments using native tools CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, OCI Monitoring and third‑party solutions.
    • Assist with cloud security controls including IAM policies, security groups and compliance reviews.
  • Server Patching & Maintenance
    • Plan, schedule and execute patching cycles for Windows and Linux servers in line with change management processes.
    • Use patch management tools to maintain compliance.
    • Monitor patch compliance and produce reports for audit and management review.
    • Document patching outcomes, exceptions and remediation steps.
  • Linux & Windows Server Administration
    • Manage and support Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.
    • Perform system configuration, tuning and capacity planning across physical and virtual infrastructure.
    • Administer Entra in Windows environments.
    • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • End User Support
    • Provide Level 2/3 technical support to end users, resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues.
    • Escalate and manage issues through the ITSM ticketing system.
    • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including account provisioning and device configuration.
    • Contribute to knowledge base documentation and self‑service resources for end users.
    • Collaborate with the User Support team to improve first‑contact resolution rates.
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of AWS, OCI, Azure (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS).
  • Infrastructure‑as‑Code: Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Cloud networking: VPCs, peering, load balancers, DNS.
  • Understanding of cloud security best practices and IAM.
  • 3+ years Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
  • 3+ years Windows Server administration.
  • Experience with ITSM platforms.
  • Strong scripting skills: Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
  • Experience with patch management tooling (Azure Update Manager).
  • Familiarity with Entra, DNS, DHCP.
Desirable Qualifications
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud certification.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ‑104) or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications.
  • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Dynatrace, PRTG).
  • ITIL Foundation certification or working knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Experience in a hybrid cloud or multi‑cloud enterprise environment.
