The Senior Linux Administrator will manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise Linux and UNIX infrastructure supporting business‑critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, monitor, and maintain Linux servers across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
- Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, and related Linux or UNIX platforms used in production infrastructure.
- Support virtualization environments such as VMware and KVM, along with cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, patching, server hardening, and remediation activities in coordination with cybersecurity teams.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot operating system, hardware, software, resource, and availability issues.
- Perform advanced kernel tuning, performance optimization, capacity planning, and infrastructure health analysis.
- Automate routine administration tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or other approved automation tools.
- Support high availability designs, failover readiness, system resilience, and production continuity.
- Collaborate with application, database, network, and security teams to support business‑critical systems.
- Lead root cause analysis and post‑incident reviews for major outages or recurring infrastructure issues.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, documentation, and recovery readiness activities.
- Maintain operational documentation for server configurations, patching procedures, hardening standards, and support processes.
- Provide 24x7 on‑call support as part of a rotation schedule for critical infrastructure services.
Ideal Profile
- Minimum 10 years of hands‑on Linux and UNIX administration experience in large‑scale infrastructure environments.
- Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration is required.
- Practical experience with Ubuntu and other Linux distributions used in enterprise environments.
- Good understanding of Linux performance tuning, kernel parameters, system resource management, and capacity planning.
- Strong knowledge of server security, hardening, vulnerability remediation, patching, and compliance‑focused operations.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or KVM.
- Exposure to AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP cloud environments will be a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of IBM AIX will be considered an added advantage.
- Hands‑on scripting and automation experience using shell scripting, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues across operating systems, hardware, applications, and connected infrastructure.
- Experience supporting disaster recovery testing, high availability systems, and critical incident response.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with cybersecurity, database, application, and network teams.
- Ability to work in a 24x7 support model with disciplined incident handling and clear communication.
