Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to ensure the safe operation, maintenance and repair of medical devices and related systems. The role emphasizes patient safety and high-quality service to staff using complex equipment.

You will collaborate with clinicians and engineers to diagnose issues, perform calibrations, and coordinate preventive maintenance, while following manufacturer manuals and safety protocols in a demanding clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Must have completed training programs from an accredited organization in at least two of the following areas: general diagnostic imaging, mammography, radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging, nuclear medicine, CT/MR, ultrasound or PACS
• Minimum of three to five (3-5) years experience servicing and repairing sophisticated medical equipment
• Familiarity with and demonstrated proficiency in resolving complex technical problems in biomedical equipment
• Demonstrated customer support skills and PC competency with knowledge of computer networks
• Health care industry experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Consults with medical or research staff to ensure that equipment functions properly and safely, utilizing knowledge of electronics and medical terminology
• Repairs, calibrates and maintains group one and group two medical equipment and instrumentation used in the health care delivery field
• Inspects, installs and coordinates commissioning of medical and related technical equipment for use by physicians, nurses, scientists or engineers involved in researching, monitoring, diagnosing and treating
• Services various equipment, such as patient monitors, electrocardiographs, blood gas analyzers, x-ray units, defibrillators, electrosurgical units, anesthesia apparatus, pacemakers, blood pressure transducers, spiro meters, sterilizers, diathermy equipment and other related medical equipment
• Repairs and maintains equipment using hand tools, test equipment, measuring devices and knowledge of manufacturers’ manuals, troubleshooting techniques and preventive-maintenance schedules
• Tests medical equipment to ensure patient and staff safety from electrical or mechanical hazards
• Work with, and directs the activities of, contractors, vendors and outside service technicians, to ensure the appropriate delivery of services

This position is also responsible for providing professional levels of customer service to personnel throughout CCAD.
