Job summary

NMC Healthcare seeks a Biomedical Technician to maintain, calibrate and repair hospital medical equipment. The role ensures JCIA policy compliance, handles documentation, and supports procurement of assets and spare parts.

Diploma in Engineering or equivalent is required; you must be willing to work shifts, be on-call, and manage equipment performance and safety within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering or its equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Ensures JCIA policies and procedures are followed and implemented.
• Maintains all medical equipment according to manufacturers' recommendations.
• Coordinates and performs medical equipment works and services, including PPM, calibration and breakdown maintenance.
• Coordinates departmental requirements and purchase of spare parts while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and process safety management requirements.
• Responsible for spare parts management and PPM software.
• Monitors suppliers' maintenance of equipment under warranty and service contracts.
• Scrutinizes procured medical equipment and countersigns delivery notes as approved by the biomedical department.
• Evaluates safety, efficiency and effectiveness of old biomedical equipment.
• Assists in the purchase of medical equipment and instruments.
• Works in shifts to suit department operations and is available for on-call and overtime per contract.

Job description

Biomedical Technician implements maintenance, management, and repair of the hospital’s medical equipment. Performs assessment, calibration and troubleshooting of medical equipment. Handles all the necessary correspondence & documentation activities & actively takes part in Hospital quality management program. Assist in management & Procurement of New Assets.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that all JCIA policies and procedures are followed and implemented.
• Responsible for maintaining all medical equipment according to Manufacturers recommendations.
• Coordinates & performs different medical equipment related works and services. PPM, Calibration & Breakdown maintenance.
• Coordinates all departmental requirements and purchase of spare parts. Ensure that the hospital standards and strategies comply with the latest industry practice, safety, environmental and process safety management requirements.
• Responsible for spare parts Management & PPM Software.
• Responsible for monitoring suppliers maintenance of the equipment under warranty and service contracts
• Scrutinizes medical equipment procured and countersign delivery notes as being approved by biomedical department, when necessary.
• Responsible to evaluate the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of old biomedical equipment.
• Assists in the purchase of Medical Equipment & Instruments.
• Works in shifts to suit functioning of department.
• To be available for ON CALL and overtime work as per employment contract
