Job summary

Stantec invites a seasoned Structural Engineer to join our Ras Al Khaimah team on a construction supervision project. The role requires extensive civil/structural experience with international firms and UAE/Middle East exposure, plus strong communication and HSE skills.

You will lead review of submittals, assist in supervising structural works, coordinate with sub consultants, and support handover activities with proper documentation.

Qualifications

• Ten years of civil/structural engineering experience with international firms.
• Five years of UAE/Middle East experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid HSE knowledge and local authority experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor structural works for conformance with contract documents and procedures.
• Review and process all structural technical submittals and RFIs.
• Assist in supervising structural activities and maintain progress records.
• Review contractor change order proposals and prepare recommendations.
• Liaise with sub consultants and review claims related to structural works.
• Assist with inspection, startup, testing, commissioning and handover.

Stantec is currently looking for a Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team and support on a construction supervision project in Ras Al Khaimah.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring the structural works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
• Reviewing approving and processing all structural technical submittals.
• Answering RFIs related to Structure and Architecture.
• Assist in supervising the work of all structural activities and operations maintaining progress records and reporting.
• Reviewing contractors structural change order proposals and preparing recommendations to Structural PM.
• Liaison with the necessary sub consultants.
• Reviewing contractors claims related to structural works and preparing recommendations for claims.
• Reviewing the contractors project record documents relevant to their discipline.
• Assisting with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the startup testing commissioning and handover of the structural works.
• Signing off on completed structural works with completed documentation and maintaining the required record.
• Perform all other duties given by the Resident Engineer

Qualifications and Preferred Specifications:

• Minimum Ten 10 years experience in Civil/Structural engineering with international consultant firms and with five 5 years in the UAE/Middle East.
• Bachelors degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent HSE knowledge and awareness.
• Excellent local Authority knowledge and experience.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Office business solutions.
