Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Dubai is looking for a Structural Inspector. This role involves monitoring and inspecting structural works like concrete piling and steel structures, ensuring adherence to plans. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and at least five years of experience, with two years in the Middle East. Strong communication skills, knowledge of construction materials, and a good understanding of HSE principles are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inspect structural works to ensure compliance.

  • Keep the Senior Resident Engineer informed about field variations.
  • Document all work done, including inspections and tests.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with safety codes and regulations.

About the job Structural Inspector (Healthcare)

Stantec is seeking a Structural Inspector to join our dynamic team in Dubai.

Monitor and inspect structural works such as concrete piling, steel structures, etc. to assure compliance to structural plans and specifications.

Review shop drawings, inspection requests, method statements, and other submissions from contractor.

Maintain a non-conformance register and ensure contractors perform remedial preventive and corrective works.

Monitor field variations and keep the Senior Resident Engineer informed of these changes.

Monitor records documentation of all work done, including records of change works, tests, inspections, status of work, safety, site diary, materials and equipment onsite, labors, day-works, etc.

Monitor contractor compliance with Safety Program and all applicable safety codes and regulations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant disciplines: Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Five (5) years experience in a similar or equivalent position and job description, 2 years minimum Middle East site experience.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems and trade practices is required.
  • Understanding of sustainable building goals and objectives.
  • Local Authority Knowledge and understanding.
  • Good HSE awareness.
  • Computer proficiency.
