Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer. This role involves monitoring structural works, reviewing technical submittals, and supervising site activities. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, 10 years of experience in the Middle East (5-6 years in UAE), and strong technical knowledge in building codes. Experience in healthcare projects will be an advantage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of ME experience including 5-6 years experience in UAE working in an international consultant environment.
• Healthcare project experience is an advantage (Hospitals, Clinics, or Laboratories).

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the structural works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents.
• Reviewing, approving and processing all structural technical submittals.
• Answering RFIs related to Structure and Architecture.
• Assist in supervising the work of all structural activities.
• Reviewing contractors structural change order proposals.
• Liaison with necessary sub consultants.
• Reviewing contractors claims related to structural works.
• Assisting with the inspection of completed works.

Stantec is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team and support on a Construction Site and Supervision project in Abu Dhabi.

Key Tasks and Duties:

• Monitoring the structural works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
• Reviewing, approving and processing all structural technical submittals.
• Answering RFIs related to Structure and Architecture.
• Assist in supervising the work of all structural activities and operations, maintaining progress records and reporting.
• Reviewing contractors structural change order proposals and preparing recommendations to Structural PM.
• Liaison with the necessary sub consultants.
• Reviewing contractors claims related to structural works and preparing recommendations for claims.
• Reviewing the contractors project record documents relevant to their discipline.
• Assisting with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the start-up, testing, commissioning and handover of the structural works.
• Signing off on completed structural works with completed documentation and maintaining the required record.
• Perform all other duties given by Senior Structural Engineer
