Job summary

TAQA seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer to supervise and coordinate construction activities on TAQA-T/TAQA-D infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure conformance with drawings, specifications, and TAQA standards while coordinating with contractors and consultants.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil or Electrical Engineering degree, has TAQA approval, and proven site supervision experience, QA/QC, HSE, and strong communication and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering relevant to project discipline.
• Previous TAQA approval as Assistant Resident Engineer mandatory.
• Proven experience in TAQA-T and/or TAQA-D projects.
• Experience in site supervision, inspections, QA/QC, HSE coordination, and contractor management.
• Ability to review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs and inspection requests.
• Familiarity with TAQA standards and project documentation.
• Strong communication, reporting and site coordination skills.
• Experience with engineering consultancy firms in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and TAQA standards.
• Monitor contractors' performance, work progress, and adherence to project schedules and quality requirements.
• Conduct site inspections and coordinate inspection requests to verify compliance with approved designs and technical specifications.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs and other technical submissions.
• Coordinate QA/QC activities and ensure non-conformities are identified, documented and resolved.
• Monitor compliance with HSE requirements and coordinate with site personnel.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, clients and authorities to resolve technical issues and facilitate project execution.
• Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, progress reports and documentation.
• Identify construction challenges and assist timely resolution to minimize delays and rework.

Key Accountabilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings specifications project requirements and TAQA standards

• Coordinate quality assurance and quantity control QA QC activities and ensure non-conformities are identified documented and resolved
• Monitor compliance with health safety and environmental HSE requirements and coordinate with relevant site personnel
• Coordinate with contractors consultants clients and relevant authorities to resolve technical issues and facilitate project execution
• Maintain accurate site records inspection reports progress reports and project documentation
• Identify construction challenges escalated critical issues and support timely resolution to minimize delays and rework
• Ensure construction activities comply with applicable TAQA-T and or TAQA-D requirements and authority procedures
