Job summary

KAD Construction in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to supervise road construction projects on-site in Abu Dhabi. You will ensure works conform to drawings, specs, and QA/QC standards while coordinating with surveyors, subcontractors, and client representatives.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, at least 5 years UAE experience, and a UAE driving license. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is essential, with strong English reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in civil infrastructure and road construction.
• Valid UAE Driving License required.
• Strong knowledge of road works, earthworks, drainage, utilities, asphalt, and related infrastructure works.

Job Description:

• Supervise and monitor road construction activities as per approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  
• Execute and inspect earthworks, excavation, embankment, subgrade, sub-base, road base, asphalt, and pavement works.
  
• Coordinate daily site activities with surveyors, subcontractors, operators, consultants, and project management.
  
• Check levels, alignment, slope, dimensions, and grades using approved survey data and drawings.
  
• Monitor construction of drainage systems, culverts, kerbs, footpaths, utility crossings, and road structures.
  
• Ensure materials and workmanship comply with project specifications, method statements, and quality standards.
  
• Conduct and coordinate field tests such as soil compaction, density, concrete, aggregate, and asphalt testing.
  
• Prepare daily progress reports, inspection requests (IR), work permits, checklists, and site records.
  
• Measure completed works and assist with quantity calculations, BOQ verification, and subcontractor measurements.
  
• Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections, testing, NCR closure, and quality documentation.
  
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, including safe working practices, traffic management, and site safety procedures.
  
• Monitor manpower, equipment, materials, and productivity to achieve daily and planned project targets.
  
• Review drawings and identify site discrepancies, technical issues, and required modifications.
  
• Assist in preparing as-built drawings and project handover documentation.
  
• Attend site meetings and coordinate with the consultant/client regarding technical and construction issues.
  
• Monitor project progress against the construction schedule and report delays or risks to the project engineer.
  
• Ensure proper protection and maintenance of completed road and infrastructure works.
  

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
  
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in civil infrastructure and road construction projects.
  
• Driving License: Valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
  
• Technical Experience: Strong experience in road works, earthworks, drainage, utilities, asphalt, kerbs, pavements, and related infrastructure works.
  
• Site Experience: Proven ability to supervise construction activities, coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress, and ensure works are completed as per approved drawings and specifications.
  
• Knowledge: Good knowledge of UAE construction standards, project specifications, QA/QC procedures, HSE requirements, and site documentation.
  
• Coordination: Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, clients, subcontractors, surveyors, and project teams.
  
• Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and other relevant engineering/project management software.
  
• Communication: Good English communication and reporting skills.
