Job summary

Bulahej Group is seeking a Chief of Accounts to lead and manage its accounting department in Abu Dhabi. This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with regulations, while supervising daily accounting operations and providing strategic insights for business decisions.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a minimum of 7–10 years of accounting experience and 3 years in a leadership position. Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, are essential.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UAE tax/VAT laws.

Job description

The Chief of Accounts is responsible for leading and managing the company’s accounting department, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective financial planning. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, supervises the accounts team, and provides strategic financial insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management.
• Provide management with accurate financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
• Identify variances and recommend corrective actions.

Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with tax laws, VAT regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for financial audits.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Team Leadership

• Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounts team.
• Allocate tasks and ensure timely completion of financial processes.
• Promote continuous improvement and efficiency in accounting practices.

Strategic Support

• Advise management on financial planning, cost control, and profitability.
• Evaluate financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Support business expansion, investment, and project evaluations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CA preferred).
