Job summary

Velora Aviation in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Cargo Operations Supervisor to oversee airport resources, equipment utilization and the efficient, compliant handling of all cargo shipments. You will coordinate freight movements, supervise freighter operations and teams, and lead briefings to identify improvements while ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory procedures.

The ideal candidate has cargo/logistics education, several years of operations experience, and training in DG, special products

Qualifications

• High school level or higher; diploma in logistics/operations preferred.
• Minimum four years cargo operations experience with freighter handling.
• Knowledge of cargo handling systems, DG/special products, weight and balance.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise airport resources and equipment utilization to ensure efficient and timely execution of operations according with working instructions, safety procedures and policies.
• Coordinate, control and supervise handling, operations, special products to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
• Provide to the team clear operating instructions to ensure activities are timely executed in compliance with regulations and procedures.
• Manage, coordinate and monitor timeliness and accuracy of operations to ensure alignment with KPIs and external / internal regulations.
• Monitor and coordinate Etihad Airwaysand other airlines cargooperations to improve the KPISof the HUB station and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Monitor and overview extraordinary loading operations, to ensure execution is compliant with regulations and carriers procedures.
• Conduct briefing and de-briefing sessions on assigned activities to identify and provide advice on areas of improvement.

Education & Experience

• Educated to at least high school level, preferably diploma level in logistics, operations management or related discipline with acquired specialization in cargo handling operations. Successful completion of cargo and dangerous goods courses are required, as well as courses in Special products, aircraft weight and balance and general cargo procedures.
• At least four years of cargo operations experience along with Freighter handling and managing team and suppliers.
• Good understanding of computer airfreight specifications, in depth knowledge of industry standards and Legal Regulations. Industry training in DG/Special Products/Cargo Operations/Safety and Security/weight and balance (advantage).
• Fully conversant with cargo handling processes, procedures and regulatory compliance expectations. Experienced on Cargo handling systems, messaging requirements and manual handling systems, Knowledge of freighter aircraft specifically the 747F/777F. Understanding of budgetary controls related to cargo handling at network stations, good written and verbal communication skills.
