Job summary

ADNOC Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical and project management support across the full lifecycle—from FEED through commissioning and handover for capital projects in the oil and energy sector. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• 8 years of experience in multidisciplinary engineering functions.
• Experience in preparation of Front End Engineering and Design packages.
• Knowledge of gas extraction and processing plant operations.
• Knowledge of production engineering principles and project management.
• Good understanding of engineering concepts and FEED activities.
• Knowledge of relevant applicable legislation and regulations.
• Knowledge of HSE principles and their application within the Oil and Gas industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across project development, engineering, construction, commissioning and handover activities.
• Contribute to development of detailed Statements of Requirements and project implementation strategies.
• Support project phases covering FEED, detailed engineering, construction and commissioning.
• Assist in preparing tender documents for selection of Engineering Consultants, PMC organizations and contractors.
• Provide professional input into contractor selection, including prequalification and bid evaluation.
• Support site management requirements covering site arrangements, logistics and related project interfaces.
• Contribute to the effective selection of equipment, materials, systems, work methods and testing requirements.
• Review contractors ' subcontracting strategies and support prequalification of subcontractors.
• Verify that contractor strategies, plans, specifications, construction methods and procedures comply with the approved scope of work and project specifications.
• Supervise activities of assigned specialists during engineering and construction phases.
• Monitor work performed by licensors, engineering consultants and EPC contractors.
• Identify project bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions to support timely execution.
• Review construction strategies, plans, specifications, methods and procedures for technical suitability, value and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Participate in project workshops and technical reviews.
• Attend project meetings with contractors, subcontractors, vendors and other relevant parties.
• Review and coordinate contractor pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, plans and activities.
• Verify that commissioning activities comply with approved specifications and project requirements.
• Coordinate and attend pre-commissioning and commissioning meetings with Operations and Maintenance teams.
• Review contractor documentation and consolidate comments from relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure required documentation is submitted in the specified format.
• Facilitate handover of completed project facilities to Operations for commissioning and start-up.
• Coordinate and provide recommendations for purchase requisitions covering materials and equipment to be issued to EPC and construction contractors.
• Support technical evaluation and selection of project equipment and materials.
• Coordinate project requirements with relevant procurement, engineering and contractor interfaces.
• Monitor project execution against approved scope, schedule and budget.
• Review contractor invoices and monitor contract costs in coordination with the Cost Service.
• Maintain current information on project trends that may result in positive or negative contract variations.
• Evaluate contractor claims and provide recommendations.
• Support negotiations and coordinate final settlement activities with the Contracts Department.
• Monitor project performance and recommend corrective measures where execution deviates from planned requirements.
• Review work methods, procedures and installations against applicable safety requirements.
• Review site safety audit plans and monitor their timely implementation.
• Conduct project risk analysis.
• Participate in Project Health, Safety and Environment Reviews.
• Conduct ATR reviews in accordance with Company procedures.
• Apply relevant HSE principles throughout project engineering and execution activities.
• Monitor and manage project completion punch lists.
• Verify completion and acceptance of construction and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate requirements supporting release of the Provisional Acceptance Certificate to contractors.
• Manage issuance of the Provisional Acceptance Certificate.
• Coordinate preparation and issuance of contract close-out reports.
• Ensure project drawings, catalogues, manuals and other required documentation are transferred to Company Records.
• Track warranties and defects liability periods for completed works.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports to EPC contractors when required.
• Coordinate corrective actions during warranty and defects liability periods.
• Plan, supervise and coordinate activities within the assigned area to achieve functional objectives.
• Guide assigned specialists during engineering and construction activities.
• Train and develop assigned personnel in relevant skills.
• Support staff capability development to achieve section and project objectives.
