Job summary

AECOM is seeking a senior drafter/designer with strong roads and earthworks modelling experience to deliver CAD and BIM drawings for projects in the UAE. You will produce drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation based on road designers' inputs, and ensure alignment with CAD/BIM standards.

You will work with BIM procedures, manage data exchange through ProjectWise and BIM360, perform QA/QC on models, and collaborate with other designers to deliver coordinated, accurate drawings in line with

Responsibilities

• Develop and produce drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation from road design data.
• Utilise BIM workflows and tools to extract drawings from BIM models and ensure CAD/BIM compliance.
• Manage data exchange via ProjectWise and BIM360 and QA/QC of models for accuracy.
• Collaborate with designers and drafters to deliver coordinated, error-free drawings.
• Ensure designs comply with Abu Dhabi/ Dubai/Middle East design standards.

Job description

Excellent technical knowledge and hands on experience in roads and earthworks modelling and drafting tools like Civil3D AutoCAD and MicroStation and conversant with Abu Dhabi/ Dubai/Middle East design standards.

• Develop and produce drawings in AutoCAD AutoCAD Civil 3D or associated programs based on design provided by road designers and modelers for internal and external company use.

• Utilize customized tools utilities and scripts to automate work processes and improve AutoCAD productivity and efficiency in compliance with the company CAD standards.
• Understands procedures (i.e. BIM Procedures) and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines inclusive of Model authoring using BIM tools (C3D) and extracting drawings from BIM models.
• Knowledge of digital tools for preparation of GIS submission to the town planning authority.

• Knowledge of common Data Environment for information exchange like ProjectWise and BIM360. Excellent knowledge in managing Civil3D data shortcuts in ProjectWise and BIM360 environments
• Performs QA & QC on discipline models and drawings to assure compliance with CAD/BIM standards and requirements.
• Works closely with other Designer/Drafters to ensure a coordinated and error free drawings.
• Ability to understand the design process for road and earthworks design
