Role Context

The Business Studies Teacher will combine high-quality classroom instruction with an important curriculum-development responsibility. As GEMS Royal Dubai School expands into Year 10 from September 2027 and subsequently towards Year 13, the successful teacher will help establish the subject 's curriculum architecture, resources, assessment practices and academic standards. Teaching will connect business theory with contemporary commercial situations so students understand how organisations respond to competition, customers, finance, operations and changing markets. The role will develop learners who can interpret business information, evaluate strategic choices, solve problems and justify decisions using evidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging Secondary Business Studies lessons aligned with relevant examination specifications.
  • Develop students ' understanding of business organisations, markets, finance, operations and decision-making.
  • Apply business concepts to realistic commercial scenarios, case studies and current market contexts.
  • Strengthen commercial awareness and encourage students to understand how organisations create and sustain value.
  • Develop analytical thinking, problem-solving and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Encourage entrepreneurial thinking through practical business challenges and applied learning.
  • Teach students to interpret financial, quantitative and qualitative business information.
  • Develop learners ' ability to construct balanced arguments and justified business recommendations.
