Key Responsibilities

  • Apply evidence-informed teaching techniques that improve knowledge retention, retrieval, understanding, and independent application.
  • Prepare learners systematically for GCSE, A-Level, and other relevant assessments where applicable.
  • Teach students to interpret quantitative and qualitative business information and use evidence to justify recommendations.
  • Strengthen examination technique through structured practice in analysis, evaluation, calculations, and extended written responses.
  • Track attainment and identify patterns in student performance so that teaching and intervention can be adjusted effectively.
  • Provide targeted feedback that gives learners clear actions for improving subject knowledge and assessment performance.
  • Adapt lesson content and classroom strategies to challenge high achievers while providing appropriate support for students requiring additional guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum sequencing, common assessments, moderation, teaching resources, and departmental priorities.

Ideal Profile
  • B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification in Business Studies or a closely related subject.
  • At least two years of experience teaching the National Curriculum of England.
  • Practical experience delivering Business Studies within a British curriculum setting.
  • Excellent command of business concepts and the ability to make complex commercial topics accessible to secondary students.
  • Demonstrated record of effective classroom teaching and positive student progress.
