🎬The Role

Our client is seeking a Business Development Director to be a critical leader responsible for driving the company's growth by identifying new business opportunities, engaging with potential clients, and strategically overseeing client relationship management. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and negotiation skills, a deep understanding of business development strategies, and a keen interest in Intellectual Property (IP). English proficiency is required, while French language skills and experience in IP are a plus.

The Business Development Director will strategically oversee the execution and relationship management across the client acquisition cycle. This is a hands‑on role that requires exceptional communication, operational discipline, and the ability to turn market insights into reliable sales execution.

👤The Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Research:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities on a global level.
  • Conduct research on potential clients, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Develop and maintain a database of prospective leads, ensuring accurate records of interactions (familiarity with CRM tools is a plus).
Client Acquisition & Onboarding:
  • Establish and nurture relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Conduct initial outreach via email, calls, and meetings to introduce the Company's services.
  • Assist in preparing tailored proposals and presentations for potential clients.
  • Handle the admin work to onboard new clients on our portal including coordination with our IP Agents in each country for the issuance of POAs.
Sales Leadership & Execution:
  • Lead and close high‑value negotiations and deals.
  • Draft sales contracts and agreements in collaboration with the legal team.
  • Work closely with internal teams to align sales efforts with service delivery.
Reporting & Strategy:
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and client interactions.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development performance and key metrics.
  • Identify areas for improvement in BD strategies and provide data‑driven recommendations.
Marketing & Networking:
  • Represent the Company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop BD materials and digital campaigns.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives by providing market insights and feedback.
🎓The Skills & Competencies
EExperience & Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Law, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management, with at least 2 years in a leadership/director capacity.
  • Prior experience working in the MENA region is preferred.
Technical & Business Skills:
  • Strong understanding of business development strategies and sales processes.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and business development software.
