Job summary

Confidential Company in Dubai seeks a seasoned Operations specialist to lead end-to-end bitumen cargo execution from nomination to delivery. You will coordinate with suppliers, shipping agents, terminals and inspectors to ensure timely, compliant deliveries and accurate documentation.

The role requires 5–8 years in physical oil or bitumen trading operations, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment within the Middle East.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in physical oil or bitumen trading operations.
• Hands-on bitumen cargo operations experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating marine cargoes and terminals.
• Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and certificates.
• Ability to manage cargo execution from nomination to delivery.
• Familiarity with demurrage, claims and operational reconciliations.
• Experience working with Trading, Finance, Risk and Trade Finance teams.
• Dubai/Middle East experience is highly desirable.

Job description

An opportunity to join a growing physical energy trading platform in Dubai, with primary responsibility for the operational execution of bitumen trading activities.The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Operations and Trading team to ensure smooth, timely and commercially disciplined execution of bitumen cargoes from contract confirmation through delivery and settlement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end operational execution of bitumen cargo transactions.

• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, shipping agents, vessel operators, terminals, storage facilities, inspectors, surveyors, transporters and other logistics partners.

• Handle shipment planning, nominations, loading/discharge coordination and delivery follow-up.

• Prepare and maintain operational documentation including contracts, shipping documents, bills of lading, certificates, inspection reports and delivery documents.

• Monitor cargo movements and provide timely updates to Trading, Finance, Risk and Management.

• Coordinate with inspectors and surveyors for quantity and quality certification.

• Support invoicing, payment documentation, trade reconciliation and cargo close-out.

• Track demurrage, operational costs, claims, shortages, quality issues and other exceptions.

• Identify operational issues early and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve them.

• Maintain accurate cargo, vessel, inventory and exposure information.

• Support the Director of Operations in developing and improving operating procedures, controls and reporting.

• Help build and maintain a reliable network of shipping, terminal, inspection and logistics service providers.

• Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with company procedures, contractual requirements and applicable compliance controls.

Desired Candidate Profile

• 5–8 years of experience in physical oil, petroleum products, bitumen, energy or commodity trading operations.

• Strong hands-on experience specifically with bitumen cargo operations is highly preferred.

• Experience coordinating marine cargoes, vessels, terminals, storage and inspections.

• Good understanding of shipping and trade documentation.

• Experience managing cargo execution from nomination/loading through discharge and final documentation.

• Familiarity with demurrage, claims, quantity/quality issues and operational reconciliations.

• Experience working closely with Trading, Finance, Risk and Trade Finance teams.

• Strong coordination and stakeholder-management skills.

• Able to work independently in a fast-paced trading environment.

• Dubai / Middle East experience is highly desirable.

• Experience in an independent commodity trading house, oil trading company or privately owned trading business would be advantageous.
