BESS Pre-Contract Project Lead for Tenders & Contracts

Job summary

GOTION HIGH-TECH is seeking a role that owns large-scale BESS opportunities from qualification to contract signing, ensuring technical, commercial, contractual, and delivery requirements are defined and executable before handover.

You will lead RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and major tenders across the Middle East, coordinating across Sales, Engineering, R&D, Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal to deliver winning proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in renewable energy, power, BESS, or EPC projects.
• Experience in pre-sales project management, major tenders, project development, or contract negotiations preferred.
• Working knowledge of utility-scale BESS, including battery systems, PCS, BMS, EMS, grid connection, RTE, and availability requirements.
• Strong project planning, risk management, cross-functional coordination, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Fluent English with the ability to independently lead customer and internal project meetings.
• Willingness to be based in or travel extensively across the region.

Responsibilities

• Own BESS opportunities across the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa from qualification through contract signing.
• Lead RFI, RFQ, RFP, and major tender activities, coordinating Sales, Engineering, R&D, Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, and Legal teams.
• Establish and track customer requirements covering system performance, grid connection, delivery, localization, warranty, and after-sales support.
• Identify and manage technical, cost, schedule, certification, grid-connection, commercial, and contractual risks.
• Lead internal project reviews and drive timely management decisions on critical open issues.
• Act as the primary project coordination interface during customer workshops, clarification meetings, and commercial negotiations.
• Organize structured project handover to the execution team after contract signing, including scope, commitments, schedule, risks, and outstanding items.
