Job summary

Fairmont Dubai is seeking a talented Bartender to deliver outstanding guest experiences in a luxury hotel setting in Dubai. You will mix cocktails, serve wines, and maintain beverage stock per hotel standards, reporting to the Outlet Manager.

You will join a team focused on service excellence, alongside training to stay current with menu items and promotions, while upholding safety and sustainability practices.

Qualifications

• Excellent F&B knowledge, wine, spirits and liqueurs.
• Experience in F&B management in a luxury property preferred.
• English fluent; Arabic speaking is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work well in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Hotel management degree is an asset.
• International experience is an asset.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Youthful, enthusiastic, charismatic and approachable.

Job Description

The position of a Bartender is dedicated to exceeding expectations of both internal and external Guests to ensure the highest level of service is consistently provided. Teamwork is the key to success in providing a warm and personal experience. The Bartender should be a host for the Guests in the Bar and provide best service while mixing the drinks, adhering to the Bar standards and also control the Beverage stock as per Hotel guidelines. Reporting to the Outlet Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Promote and maintain a positive working relationship at all times with all the Colleagues in Fairmont Dubai
• Consistently offer professional, friendly and warm service
• Serve the perfect glass of wine for the Guest
• Make the perfect cocktail (write recipe and favor) for the Guest
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of Outlet policies, procedures, and service standards
• Have full knowledge of the menu, beverage lists in your outlet and all other special promotions taking place in the hotel.
• Knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods.
• Able to answer any Guest questions about menu items in an informative and helpful way
• Always take corrective action if service errors occur, ensuring all solutions exceed the Guests expectation
• Understand shift end reports, have knowledge of non-cash/cash transactions and procedures for depositing monies into safe or collecting due backs
• Understand each service station and all side duties assigned to that station
• Attend pre-meal briefing, weekly and monthly meetings to continually improve the Guests experience
• Understand how to operate all the equipment used in the Outlet
• Fully understand and follow the hotel’s recycling program and procedures
• Follow all of safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Carry out any miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as requested by your Manager pertaining to total quality service delivered in the Outlet
• Foster and practice teamwork and co operation with all other positions existing in the Outlet
• Attend all training sessions and be aware of any changes to menus, hotel and departmental policies and procedures, service standards as well as business trends and requirements
• Fully understand and follow the hotel’s recycling program and procedures
• Actively participate in all health and safety procedures of the hotel
• Follow all of safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Report to work on time in a neatly pressed clean uniform, & name tag

Qualifications

• Excellent F&B knowledge / Wine, Spirits and liqueurs & Cigars
• Experience in Food & Beverage management in a luxury property preferred
• Hotel Management Graduate an asset
• International experience an asset
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• English fluency is a must; Arabic speaking is an asset
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Must be able to work well in a team environment
• Previous Micros experience an asset, but not required (training provided)
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
