Role Purpose:

A Barista warmly welcomes customers into their establishment, creates and serves hot or cold beverages tailored to the customer's preferences, takes customer orders and payments, and cleans and sanitizes work areas, seating areas, and equipment/tools.

Key Task and Responsibilities:

Customer Experience: Understanding the customer journey and ensuring the experience meets service standards.

Sequence of Service: Understanding and adhering to the defined sequence of services as per restaurant standards.

Table Maintenance: Clearing, replenishing, and responding to customer requests regarding tables.

Cash and Billing: Delivering bills when requested and following correct cash/credit card handling procedures.

Use of POS for order taking: Navigating the POS system for accurate order taking.

Mise-en-Place Preparation: Preparing the restaurant/cafe for service according to defined standards.

Teamwork: Supporting and collaborating with colleagues and peers to ensure seamless customer experience and accurate information handover during shift change.

Drinks Recipes: Understanding recipes and methods for making beverages.

Product Knowledge: Understanding ingredients, allergens, cooking preparation, and presentation of dishes.

Sales Pitch and Upselling: Describing the USP’s of the products on the menu and identifying opportunities to cross‑sell.

Cleaning and Hygiene: Adhering to H&S regulations and following cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
