Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Bancatakaful Portfolio Manager in Abu Dhabi to drive performance, governance, and risk control across the Bancatakaful portfolio, deliver senior management reporting, and ensure SLA oversight of Takaful providers.

You will lead product and process improvements, coordinate with providers and internal teams, and support audits and risk controls while building dashboards and actionable insights.

Job Description

Role : Bancatakaful Portfolio Manager
Location : Abu Dhabi
Role Purpose:
To manage and grow the Bancatakaful product portfolio by driving performance monitoring, governance, and risk control, ensuring strong management reporting, SLA oversight of Takaful Providers, audit readiness, and continuous improvement through product and process gap assessments.

Key Accountabilities of the role

• Manage the Bancatakaful product portfolio end-to-end, including performance tracking and ongoing monitoring against targets (penetration, persistency, claims ratio, revenue per branch).
• Manage and monitor Takaful Provider agent sales teams
• Manage activities of portfolio & ADIB MIS team members
• Support budget and forecast inputs for the Bancatakaful portfolio, including variance commentary for management reviews.
• Manage the performance of Takaful Providers and operational partners, escalating breaches and driving corrective action through structured governance forums.
• Build and manage a portfolio performance dashboard with leading and lagging indicators, surfacing emerging risks before they become reportable issues.
• Perform regular product and process gap assessments, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting implementation of fixes.
• Prepare business review decks and other management reporting for senior leadership, translating raw portfolio data into clear, decision-ready insights.
• Manage the department's RCSA, KRIs and BCM
• Handle internal, external, and regulatory audits, including coordinating evidence collection, responses, and closure of findings within agreed timelines.
• Manage department training plans, including scheduling, tracking completion, maintaining records, and identifying skill gaps for upskilling.
• Support new product launches and product reviews, including documentation, testing, and stakeholder coordination across the bank and Takaful Provider partners.
• Any other Adhoc responsibilities assigned by management.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role

• Detailed understanding of Takaful / Insurance products.
• Teamwork and project management skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for management reporting and business review decks.
• Experience with RCSA frameworks, audit processes, and BCM/BCP methodology.
• Good problem-solving skills, particularly for product and process gap analysis.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Time management skills and ability to work under pressure across multiple parallel deliverables.
