Job summary

Velora Aviation in Abu Dhabi seeks a Baggage Team Leader to provide frontline leadership and supervise baggage handling operations, ensuring safe, efficient and timely movement of passenger bags while meeting SLAs. You will drive a high-performance culture, enforce SOPs, coordinate team briefings, and ensure accurate documentation, reporting safety issues and incidents per procedures.

The role requires a high school education, at least 3 years in airport ground handling, and a valid UAE driving

Qualifications

• Secondary / High school level education.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in airport ground handling industry.
• Valid UAE Driving License.

Responsibilities

• Plan, update and supervise activities to ensure the safe and professional delivery of service for all customer airlines in line with the defined SLAs and quality standards
• Drive employee engagement and a high performance culture by being a role model that gives emphasis to empowerment, communication, quality, productivity & goal attainment
• Ensuring that all SOPs are adhered to at all times both by yourself and your team members allowing for a safe and secure operation
• Encourage consistency and collaboration by ensuring clear communication at all levels including team briefings and completion of relevant reports
• Ensure that all documentation pertaining to the tasks performed are accurately completed
• Proactively work towards the connection of all passengers and bags
• Ensure they operate safely in compliance with applicable procedures and instructions
• Report safety, security and service occurrences, errors, hazards and near‑misses utilizing the established reporting procedures

Baggage Team Leader

Purpose

The Baggage Team Leader provides front‑line leadership and operational supervision within baggage handling operations to ensure the safe, efficient and timely movement of passenger baggage. The role is responsible for delivering operational excellence, maintaining safety and compliance and leading teams to meet service level agreements (SLAs) while ensuring a superior guest experience.
