Job summary

Sharjah Aviation Services (SAS) is seeking a baggage handler to reconcile, load, unload and deliver passenger baggage across the ground handling operation in Sharjah. You will work under the Belt Team Leader to meet airline requirements and ensure timely baggage movement.

Responsibilities include scanning bags with HHTs, using trolleys, tractors (licence required), delivering to aircraft and arrivals belts, and reporting defects.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Belt Team Leader to meet customer requirements and adjust schedules as needed.
• Clear knowledge of using HHTs for scanning bags and reconciling through SITA BagManager.
• Operate baggage trolleys and tractors (licensed) and pallets/dollies.
• Deliver baggage to aircraft side and to arrivals belt, unloading onto reclaim belt.
• Deliver to Transfer Unit/Drop Off Point and handle empty containers.
• Report defective equipment and any accidents or injuries observed.
• Perform daily inspections, keep equipment clean and properly stored, manage FOD.
• Follow Airport Notices, company instructions, and maintain health & safety standards.
• Escort staff with temporary passes and ensure procedures, discipline and performance.
• Adhere to airport security requirements and represent the company professionally.
• Work across areas as workloads require and perform other duties to ensure smooth operation.
• Accurately complete reporting forms daily and follow IATA tie-down procedures.
• Adhere to Safety Compliance, Security, and Health & Safety policies.
