Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering in United Arab Emirates seeks a Mechanical Site Engineer to oversee solar PV installation activities, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, QA/QC and HSE on major utility-scale projects.

You will supervise module mounting, trackers, and structural installations, review drawings, coordinate with civil/electrical teams, manage NCRs/ITPs, and report progress to project management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years experience in utility-scale Solar PV / renewable EPC.
• Hands-on experience in tracker, module installation and mechanical site execution.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Good knowledge of QA/QC and HSE requirements.
• GCC/UAE Solar PV project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical installation of PV module mounting structures, trackers, fixed-tilt systems and solar modules.
• Review mechanical drawings, layouts, specifications, method statements and technical documents.
• Monitor pile installation, structural erection, tracker alignment and module installation activities.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, QA/QC, HSE and commissioning teams.
• Ensure mechanical works comply with drawings, project specs and standards.
• Carry out site inspections and support resolution of installation and technical issues.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to meet construction targets and milestones.
• Monitor material availability and correct usage during installation.
• Support preparation/review of ITPs, method statements, inspection requests, punch lists and as-built docs.
• Monitor quality of installation and close NCRs/punch points.
• Provide daily/weekly progress updates to project management.

Job description

Responsible for mechanical engineering and site execution activities for Solar PV projects ensuring installation is completed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements, HSE standards and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical installation of PV module mounting structures trackers fixed-tilt systems and solar modules
• Review mechanical drawings layouts specifications method statements and technical documents
• Monitor pile installation structural erection tracker alignment and module installation activities
• Coordinate with civil electrical engineering QA QC HSE and commissioning teams
• Ensure mechanical works comply with approved drawings project specifications and applicable standards
• Carry out site inspections and support resolution of installation and technical issues
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to achieve construction targets and project milestones
• Monitor material availability and ensure correct materials are used during installation
• Support preparation review of ITPs method statements inspection requests punch lists and as-built documentation
• Monitor quality of mechanical installation and support closure of NCRs punch points
• Provide daily weekly progress updates and highlight construction constraints to project management

Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Preferably 5 10 years of experience, with relevant experience in utility-scale Solar PV / renewable energy EPC projects. Hands-on experience in tracker, module installation and mechanical site execution preferred. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications. Good knowledge of QA/QC and HSE requirements. Strong coordination, problem-solving and site management skills. GCC/UAE Solar PV project experience preferred.
