Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in the United Arab Emirates invites an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering, installation, testing and commissioning for utility-scale Solar PV projects. You will ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality and HSE requirements.

You will supervise installation works, review SLDs, coordinate with EPC teams, conduct site inspections and support energization and grid-connection activities, while maintaining thorough technical records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 8–12 years of experience preferred in utility-scale Solar PV/EPC projects.
• Strong knowledge of DC/AC systems, inverters, transformers, MV/LV, switchgear, protection and earthing.
• Experience in testing and commissioning is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret SLDs, drawings and technical specifications.
• Solid QA/QC and HSE knowledge, GCC/UAE Solar PV experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise electrical installation works for Solar PV projects.
• Oversee DC cabling, string connections, combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, MV/LV systems, switchgear and earthing.
• Review electrical drawings, SLDs, cable schedules, layouts and specs.
• Coordinate with EPC construction, civil, mechanical, QA/QC and commissioning teams.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure designs and requirements are met.
• Review method statements, ITPs, RFIs and submittals.
• Monitor progress and resolve on-site technical issues.
• Support testing, commissioning, energization and grid-connection activities.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors and other stakeholders.
• Maintain technical records, inspection reports and handover documentation.
