Job summary

ABB in Abu Dhabi, UAE, is seeking an early-career Engineer (0-2 years) to support engineering activities across project sizes, under supervision of senior engineers. You will collect data, assist with design tasks, and ensure compliance with contract specs, safety and cybersecurity standards.

The role is onsite within Automation - Energy Industries in Abu Dhabi. Required: Engineering degree and English; Arabic beneficial for stakeholder interactions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering is required.
• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in English; Arabic preferred for stakeholder interactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform survey work, basic computations, analysis and design tasks.
• Exercise judgment on limited details and apply standard methods to prepare project documentation.
• Assist customers on technical issues and interact with contractors and staff.
• Support communication related to assignments or meetings.
• Participate in workshops related to engineering design, tools and processes.
• Coordinate with Commissioning/Service to ensure designs are installed and commissioned (as applicable).
• Update engineering deliverables post installation & commissioning (as applicable).

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities in all types of project sizes and complexities, under the supervision of senior engineers. Each day, you will complete the tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design.

The work model for the role is: onsite

This role is contributing to Automation - Energy Industries in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Main stakeholders are customers, contractors, suppliers, project managers, and engineering colleagues within ABB.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Performing survey work, standard computations, analysis, and basic design tasks.


• Exercising judgment on limited details of work and on application of standard methods and preparing project documentation within your scope of deliverables.


• Assisting customers on technical issues and interacting with official contacts, contractors, and other staff within your scope of deliverables.


• Supporting communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.


• Participating in workshops related to engineering design, tools, and processes.


• Coordinates and performs with Commissioning / Service functions to ensure the designs are appropriately installed and commissioned (if applicable as part of the contract).


• Updates the engineering deliverables post installation & commissioning (if applicable).
