Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UAE seeks an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to supervise mechanical works on high‑voltage substations and related infrastructure. You will oversee construction activities, ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards, and coordinate with civil, electrical, protection, SCADA and commissioning teams.

The role requires strong site supervision skills, a track record on 132kV+ projects, and a focus on quality and progress reporting.

Qualifications

8–12 years of experience in mechanical engineering and construction supervision.
5+ years on 132kV+ high voltage substation projects.
Experience with consultancy/site supervision organizations.
UAE/GCC utility project experience desirable.
Involvement in testing and commissioning for substations preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist the Resident Engineer in supervision of mechanical works for 132kV, 220kV, 400kV and above substations.
Monitor construction to ensure compliance with drawings, specs, contract requirements and quality standards.
Conduct daily site inspections and prepare inspection reports.
Verify contractor resources, manpower, equipment and construction methodologies.
Monitor progress against approved project schedules.
Coordinate with civil, electrical, protection, SCADA and commissioning teams.
