Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to supervise mechanical works for 132kV and higher substations within road, bridge, and infrastructure projects. You will oversee construction activities, ensure compliance with specifications, and uphold safety standards.

Applicants should have 8-12 years in mechanical engineering and construction supervision, with at least 5 years on HV substations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in mechanical engineering and construction supervision.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on 132kV and above High Voltage Substation Projects.
• Experience working for a consultancy/site supervision organization is preferred.
• UAE/GCC utility project experience is highly desirable.
• Previous involvement in testing and commissioning activities for substations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in the supervision of all mechanical works related to 132kV, 220kV, 400kV, and above substation projects.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards.
• Conduct daily site inspections and prepare inspection reports.
• Verify contractor resources, manpower, equipment, and construction methodologies.
• Monitor construction progress against approved project schedules.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, protection, SCADA, and commissioning teams.
