Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer to supervise mechanical works on high‑voltage substations (132kV and above) and related infrastructure. You will monitor compliance with drawings, specs, and safety standards while coordinating with civil, electrical, protection, and SCADA teams.

With 8–12 years in mechanical engineering and construction supervision, you will conduct daily site inspections, assess contractor resources, and support testing/commissioning

Qualifications

• Minimum 8-12 years of experience in mechanical engineering and construction supervision.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on 132kV and above High Voltage Substation Projects.
• Experience working for a consultancy/site supervision organization is preferred.
• UAE/GCC utility project experience is highly desirable.
• Previous involvement in testing and commissioning activities for substations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in the supervision of all mechanical works related to 132kV, 220kV, 400kV, and above substation projects.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards.
• Conduct daily site inspections and prepare inspection reports.
• Verify contractor resources, manpower, equipment, and construction methodologies.
• Monitor construction progress against approved project schedules.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, protection, SCADA, and commissioning teams.
